YWCA Evanston/North Shore invites community members, students, leaders, and more to join us on the evening of February 25 for our Black History Month event, “The Soul of Black Poetry: Celebrating and Centering the Beauty of Blackness”.

This is an open mic event that invites individuals and community members to share their own original poetry that speaks to and centers the experiences and history of Blackness and the Black Diaspora in our society and in our own lives. We will also feature and read the poetry of prominent Black poets and authors!

This event is FREE to the public, though donations are always welcome. We hope to see you!
