At YWCA Evanston/North Shore, we stand in solidarity with all members of our community — especially those impacted by harmful immigration enforcement actions. ICE is not welcome in our community. We believe that everyone deserves to live in safety and dignity, free from fear and harassment.
In moments like these, access to reliable information, trusted organizations, and coordinated support is essential. Our comprehensive resource guide is designed to support anyone in our community who may be in need of assistance, including but not limited to those affected by ICE raids. It offers connections to local and regional organizations that provide critical services and pathways to safety, stability, and support for individuals and families — as well as for those who want to stand in solidarity with their neighbors. Emergency & Legal Information
Report ICE Activity: If you witness ICE activity, call the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) Hotline at 855-435-7693 and sign up for the Eyes on ICE Text Network for real-time updates.
If You or a Loved One Is Detained: Access legal assistance through the National Immigrant Justice Center or contact ICIRR’s hotline at 855-435-7693.
Know Your Rights: Learn your rights during encounters with ICE and law enforcement by visiting Know Your Rights – ICIRR and Know Your Rights – ACLU.
City of Evanston Protections: The City of Evanston has declared all city property as zones free of federal civil immigration enforcement activity, including facilities, garages, and parking lots.
