Rightfully Hers Pop-Up Exhibit

Rightfully HersThe ratification of the 19th Amendment was a landmark moment in American history that dramatically changed the electorate. It enshrined in the United States Constitution fuller citizenship for women and a more expansive democracy for the nation. This pop-up, created by the National Archives Museum and on display in our lobby for the month of February, contains simple messages about the expansion of the vote to millions of women, before and after the 19th amendment, and its impact today.

Financial Education Workshop: Improve and Rebuild Your Credit

Improve and rebuild your credit.

In this workshop you will:

  • Understand the steps to improve and rebuild credit
  • Learn how to access local financial institutions and services
  • Access products such as free credit counseling

Workshop takes place at Evanston Vineyard Care Center, 2495 Howard St., Evanston. Participants can access the food pantry from 7:30-8:00 pm. Registration is not required.

Program delivered by YWCA Evanston/North Shore in partnership with Evanston Vineyard Care Center Resource Connections.

YW Culinary is a hands-on workforce training program designed to prepare low to moderate income women for success in the food service industry.

Features of the program include:

  • Development of culinary and food service skills
  • Pre-employment skills such as team work, communication skills, interview practice, and resume writing
  • Money management
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
  • Guest Chefs
  • Tours of local restaurants and food service businesses
  • Job placement and retention assistance
  • Ability to earn a stipend after successful job placement and job retention

Transportation, professional clothing, and childcare provided.
