21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge
As part of our ongoing work to eliminate racism, we invite you to embark on the 21-Day Racial Equity & Social Justice Challenge. The Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to learn about racial equity and build more effective social justice habits. Do it on your own, or do it as a group within your organization.
Each day, you can choose from activities such as reading an article or blogpost, listening to a podcast or watching a short video, reflecting on personal experience, and getting to know people and organizations who do anti-racism work. Participation in an activity like this helps participants to:
- discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our communities
- connect with one another around these issues
- identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination
This is an exciting opportunity to dive deeply into racial equity and social justice! Register today to take the challenge.
We encourage you to explore Racial Equity Tools, a comprehensive site of resources. You’ll find fundamentals, ideas for planning, implementation strategies, and evaluation resources. They are all designed to support efforts to achieve racial equity.
We’d love to hear from you about how the 21-Day Challenge moved you to action or adding to your understanding. Please complete this short evaluation. Thank you!

21 Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge
What inspired YWCA’s 21 Day Challenge
The 21-Day Equity Challenge was created by Dr. Eddie Moore Jr. (#BlackMind) and co-developed with Debby Irving, and Dr. Marguerite Penick (#DiverseSolutions). The plan has been adopted by Organizations, Associations, and Corporations all over the nation/world. Dr. Eddie Moore Jr. is the Director of the Privilege Institute in Green Bay, WI. Dr. Moore created the Challenge to not only help people better understand issues surrounding equity, inclusion, privilege, leadership, and supremacy but also to do so in a way that would build a habit of learning by stretching it over 21 days. We are excited to be offering you this 21-DayChallenge in partnership with Dr. Moore.
We also want to thank Food Solutions New England for inspiring this initiative and adapting an exercise from Dr. Moore and Irving’s book into the interactive 21 Day Racial Equity Challenge, which they launched in 2014. We also want to thank YWCA Greater Cleveland, YWCA Walla Walla, and the City of Evanston Sustainability Initiative for generously allowing us to adapt their resources for our local association.
