What We Do

Everything we do at YWCA Evanston/North Shore is based on the belief that all women have the right to be safe and choose the direction of their lives. Our programs address the fact that far too many women experience violence, and lack economic security, and these issues disproportionately impact women of color. If we want to empower all women, we must also tackle racism.

We work proactively to transform individual lives through direct service and education and to change institutions through training and advocacy.

All of our programs address three overlapping areas of focus: Racial Justice and Civil Rights, Economic Empowerment of Women, and Health and Safety for Women and Girls.

Your Mission. Our Mission.

Many of us are celebrating this time of year, however so many others are not. Families are struggling; many are experiencing domestic violence; and some are just trying to make ends meet and envision a brighter future. Your gift has immediate impact, and now through December 31st, your gift will be matched! Give at the link in our bio!

Today is #givingtuesday A day to give back and celebrate the people, causes, and organizations that mean the most to you.

Because you mean so much to us, on this Giving Tuesday, we want to thank YOU for all that you do to support YWCA.

• Thank you for being our community of dedicated supporters who play a critical role in creating a safer, and more just world for women and girls.

• Thank you for helping expand gender equity and racial equity in our communities. This work would not be possible without you!

• Thank you for donating, volunteering, participating in YWCA programs, shopping at our resale stores, and spreading the word on social media. You are what makes YWCA a central force in building better communities.

We are extremely grateful that you are part of our YWCA family. We look forward to continuing to work together to deepen our impact and make a difference in the lives of individuals we serve.
