YW Tech Lab Partner Open House
Nov 5 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Do you serve women of color or low income communities? We want to partner with you!

What is YW Tech Lab?

YW Tech Lab (formerly called YWeb Career Academy – same program, new name!) is a FREE 4-month course which covers intensive technical training in the foundations of web development (Design, HTML, CSS, Javascript). Students also receive soft skills training, including situational workplace judgment, active listening, communication skills, and problem-solving.

The program is specifically designed to provide a free education in digital skills to traditionally underrepresented or vulnerable populations, such as women of color, survivors of domestic violence, and low-wage workers.

Upon completion of the 4-month course, graduates are prepared to pursue full-time permanent employment, paid internships or freelance careers. Students also earn 7 credit hours at Oakton Community College.

At our virtual Open House you will learn about:

  • The technical training and resources provided by YWCA Evanston/North Shore
  • Anticipated outcomes for the people you serve including employment stability, increased salary, and better communication skills
  • Other ways your clients can get involved with our Economic Advancement program

The program is part of a national partnership with Google.org, YWCA USA and YWCA Madison. YWCA Evanston/North Shore is partnering locally with Oakton Community College.
