YW Tech Lab is YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s FREE 4-month web development program which aims to challenge and transform the narrative surrounding underrepresented individuals in the tech industry. This program will provide intensive technical training for the foundation for web development with the goal of creating a more inclusive and vibrant tech community where diversity is celebrated.
Spring 2024 cohort will run from January 16th, 2024-May 10th, 2024.

YWCA couples this programming with transportation assistance, financial coaching, access to affordable childcare, and job coaching and placement to ensure each participant’s success.
Upon completion of the online course, students will have opportunities to pursue full-time permanent employment, a paid internship, or freelance careers in technology through partnerships established by YWCA Evanston/North Shore. Students could also continue their education by participating in our Portfolio Workgroup or pursuing a Computer Information Systems Certificate, an associate degree, or a bachelor’s degree.
Technical Skills learned include:

CSS
JavaScript
Students are expected to complete work outside of class time and to be actively engaged in the learning process.
Weekly Class Schedule: Tuesday thru Thursday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
