Building Dignity, Safety, and Healing
New Family Support Center
The new YWCA Family Support Center will double our capacity and will be one of the first domestic violence shelters in the nation whose design is informed by recognized principles of trauma-informed care. Features include:
- 23 private, single and family rooms to support up to 68 women and children in an atmosphere designed to foster hope and healing
- Private rooms for counseling and support for both residents and families in the community in an environment that features safety, security, and confidentiality
- Spaces designed to enhance privacy and yet provide autonomy within our community of survivors
The experiences that compel a woman to seek shelter from violence are traumatic. The refuge they find should promote healing and wellness and foster independence, safety, and community.
