Further, comprehensive sexual health education has the power to advance gender equity through dismantling stereotypes and assumptions, building self-acceptance and self-esteem, and empowering young people to build healthier relationships and prevent sexual violence.
YWCA is excited and proud to offer a community-based approach to comprehensive sex education to North Shore youth this summer.
Our high school group will meet on Zoom through June and July and follow the Our Whole Lives Curriculum, which covers information about puberty, sexuality, identity, and relationships that parents and children want and need, but that schools often briefly or never address.
These groups are meant to help students build peer connections after an isolating year and explore vital health related topics in a safe space. The program is free to all North Shore youth who are in (or entering) high school. Please only register your student if they can attend most or all of the sessions.
