Flying Fish Swim School awarded grant

Categories: Blog, News

The USA Swimming Foundation recently announced that YWCA Evanston/North Shore’s Flying Fish Swim School was selected to receive a grant for 2022.

The $4,000 grant will go toward the Flying Fish Swim School’s efforts to provide free or reduced-cost swim lessons to local families who otherwise would not be able to afford lifesaving swim instruction.

The USA Swimming Foundation, which is the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming, vetted 184 applications and chose 102 programs nationwide to receive funding. YWCA’s Flying Fish Swim School was one of 10 youth programs in Illinois that was selected.

The Flying Fish aquatics program at YWCA Evanston/North Shore is committed to teaching all children to swim through the Flying Fish Swim School and offering them opportunities to grow in the sport through the Flying Fish Swim Team. Learn more at
